(TFOR) Chapter 6: Regaining Grounds
Tane’s right index finger with its acclaimed ornament has magically ripped off its original position and slowly landed on the hand of masked man. Tane has now, immensely struggled on what the circumstances are about, regardless of a cut-off body part holding the most precious nor useless thing to him.
In a sudden, the regularly blue skies turned thunderous, recreating an appearance of an unstable blackish group of clouds, roaming over the wistful condition of the town. The new little debris which was once a grateful part of village, is again full of sorrow and silence. During which, Tane’s finger is still severed, seen from the gap between the thumb and the middle one. He felt drained as perpetual as a leaking pipe, spurting red fluid out like crazy, causing his body to get weaker and weaker.
The masked man stepped forward, allowing his robe to follow the flow of the winds dramatically. Then, he pointed at the only human left on the no-man’s land. Bud barked violently, but got his mouth covered up from Tane, stopping him from ruining the scene.
“You, young one.”, the masked spoke in a baritone voice.
“I am greater than God, more monstrous than the devil, the poor have me, but the rich don't, and if you consume me, you'll eventually die. What am I?”
Tane paused for a second to cover up his pain gently with a bandage which was left on the soaked ground from the rain, before answering the pathetic riddle, the man gave him.
“Noth-”
“Yes, nothing”, said the masked. “Very Clever. It is nothing, like your corrupted soul. Your rotten skills are incomparable to mine, but when your pointless life is chained to a miracle, you are but one of ours. The powers you have, gave us something to trust in. We will live once again within the abilities of you and this material!”
The masked looks at the crowd and speaks thrillingly, holding the ring without permission. The riot cheered as intense as a midnight party, but Tane could never know what the ring really did in the past on his mother, and what would it bring in the near future.
“Join us, and the new Olden World would be ours to speak, back to this present day.”
In a blink of an eye, a golden trident flew by and it striked on to the chest of the masked man, pierced into his dark shapeless body. The riot stopped cheering as he got stabbed, and the masked man fell, toppling the ring to eventually fall to the soggy ground. The Leader and his elite crew on their warlike steeds, charged forwards behind Tane as he could never know the outcome of this raid.
“You will never take our hope away, Hyah! Magnetize!” screamed the fearless chief, declaring towards the man. After the ambush was successfully committed, the trident then magically returned to him due to the classic Magnetize spell. It was The Leader. Perceptively, he is seated on Mandrew’s poorly saddled spine, whipping away his beloved panther.
